By car will drive a distance of 30 min & arrive at the foot of the mountain with a short walking distance by steps to the cave-chapel Sarantadaskaliotisa (meaning – has 40 steps). After the sort explore of this cave and the explanation about the rest vertical cave we are going to a different nearby place, the Pythagoras cave. For access to this point, we need to climb a small and easy 3 meters rock. The Pythagoras cave was the dwelling and witness where he created the secret brotherhood school known as the semi-circle. In these caves, the mathematician and his followers, hidden from society and the tyrant Policrates, lived as ascetics. These caves also provided refuge for monks during  Arab raids at the medieval time.
