Follow in the footsteps of the world's most famous mathematician. This tour takes you deep into the rugged slopes of Mount Kerkis to discover the hidden caves where Pythagoras lived and taught.
The Adventure Itinerary:
📌The Scenic Drive: We begin with a beautiful 30-minute drive to the foot of Mount Kerkis, the highest mountain of Samos island.
📌Panagia Sarantaskaliotissa: A short walk up a stone staircase leads us to the "Church of the 40 Steps." This stunning chapel is built directly into the mouth of a cave and offers breathtaking views of the Marathokampos gulf.
📌The Legend of Pythagoras cave: We then continue to the legendary Cave of Pythagoras. To reach the entrance, we’ll complete a short, -meter scramble (climb) that can be demanding for people with fobia on the hights but doesn't require any special equipment or skills.
📌The "Semi-Circle" School: Step inside the dwelling where Pythagoras hid from the tyrant Polycrates. This is the site of his secret "brotherhood" school, known as the Semi-Circle, where his followers lived as ascetics and studied the divine nature of numbers.
